FAQs

Why should I recommend the InnoCaption app to my patients?

The InnoCaption call captioning app is a means for people who might otherwise be unable to use today’s mobile phones to make and receive phone calls to enjoy interactions with family and friends, stay in touch with work colleagues and customers, and place emergency calls with confidence. The InnoCaption app empowers users with independence and confidence.

What is required of my time to educate and train the patient on the use of the InnoCaption app?

There is no need for the healthcare professional to do anything other than introduce the InnoCaption app to their patients with hearing loss. Once the patient downloads the app to their phone and registers with InnoCaption, they can make and receive calls immediately. InnoCaption manages all troubleshooting and technical support, with an amazing customer support team that can be reached any day of the week by text message or email.

How long has the InnoCaption app been available? Why haven’t I heard of it before?

InnoCaption introduced the first version of their call captioning smart phone app in 2016. Since then, we have been improving and adding new features to make the app more user friendly and seamless. InnoCaption has focused on consumer-based promotion and marketing efforts to establish their base of business, and now are engaging with hearing health professionals to introduce the InnoCaption app to their patients with hearing loss.

Does InnoCaption have a landline service also?

InnoCaption does not provide a landline phone, but we do have a web-based desktop captioned call feature called DeskView. This feature allows users to make calls directly from a computer through a web browser or mirror captioning of calls that are taking place on their smartphone so they can view the captions on a larger screen. Are calls made on InnoCaption private?

Your call transcripts are kept strictly private and confidential. Call transcripts are not saved or archived on InnoCaption servers and our team does not have the ability to access transcripts that are saved on a user’s device. Our privacy and compliance procedures are regulated and audited by the FCC.

Our stenographers are highly trained, professional captioners that go through strict compliance measures to protect your privacy and all transcripts are deleted from captioner devices. Our captioners are only able to listen to and transcribe one side of the conversation and do not hear what is said by the InnoCaption user. The only exception to this is during conference calls when the captioner can hear all parties on the line.

For users that choose to have our ASR engine caption their calls, no call audio is logged for machine learning or any other purpose.
