Video conferencing apps are now being used at an increased volume. Work meetings, family gatherings and doctor visits are all being held virtually and the need for accessible communication solutions for the deaf and hard of hearing has skyrocketed. InnoCaption's DeskView feature helps make video conference calls far more accessible through a web browser-based live call captioning service. After you have downloaded the InnoCaption app on your mobile phone and registered for an account, press the LOGIN button at the top right of this website to get started with DeskView captioning.
It is important to note that the video conference call you are joining must have a telephone dial-in number in order to be used in conjunction with DeskView. If your Zoom meeting invitation does not have a telephone dial-in access number, your meeting host will have to set one up.
You can use InnoCaption for any phone call a hearing person would also make, including dialing into video conference meetings. However, organizations such as employers, schools or government offices that are required to provide accessibility accommodations cannot use InnoCaption as a substitute for CART captioning. The choice to use InnoCaption for calls or meetings belongs to the individual who is registered for the service and cannot be mandated by an employer or other organization.
